Family and Community Engagement

Thomasville City Schools want to build a culture of excellence for our Students and their families. In order to do so we want to form a partnership between parents, community leaders, youth service providers and the programs we have to help students development and learning. We want to reinforce the academic success, social and behavioral development, and health of our students.

Family and community engagement is a critical component of improving the success of children and youth. We want to motivate and empower families to identify their needs and take an active role to make that change. In order to improve family and community engagement we must work collectively as parents, community leaders, school staff, and youth service providers to see a change.

We encourage you to take part in our school activities/events. If interested feel free to come by and speak to the Principal at your child’s school.

We are very excited to say that we have established The Parent Institute. As a part of this we have a Parent Engagement Conference that is held once in the fall and spring semesters. This is a great event where families can come together for a day of fun and an opportunity to educate parents on a variety of schools related topics. Keep your eyes open for specific dates for this event and many more we have planned throughout the school year.

We also have a Parent Liaison for the Thomasville City School System.

I am housed at Thomasville High School but am available to work with any of the families at any of the schools.  I am one of your connections to Thomasville City Schools and the many resources in our community. I am here to help and provide support. My vision is to create a bridge between home and school, so that all children are set up to succeed in school and in life.

What can I do for you?
• Do you have a question about the school and don't know who to ask?
• Wondering about activities or resources in town?
• Concerned about your child's academics, social skills, or other school issues?
• Do you have any other concerns?

Feel free to stop by, call, or email me. You can’t come to me? Don’t worry I can go to you! I look forward to getting to know you and your children so we can ensure your child's success!
