Session Law 2023-128/HB 142- Protect Our Students Act

“Protect our Students Videos” , per state law, to be shown to middle and high school students during the first five days of school.

n accordance with G.S. 115C-105.57(2a) and Session Law 2023-128/HB142, all public school units are required to deliver the Protecting Our Students course materials to students in grades 6 through 12. These materials include videos developed by the North Carolina Center for Safer Schools in partnership with Capital Broadcasting Company and are designed to educate students and school staff about inappropriate behavior and adult sexual misconduct in school settings. As a parent or guardian, you have the right to opt your child out of viewing these materials. If you do not wish for your child to participate in this instruction, please complete and return this form your child’s school.
