Dear Families,

As we settle into another school year, we are grateful to have your family as part of our school community.  Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education. Each year, North Carolina shares state School Report Cards for every public school. These report cards provide information about school and student performance. 

The state report card shares helpful information about our school, including:

• How students perform on state end-of-grade tests, ACT exams, and English language proficiency and progress.

• Average class sizes, attendance rates, and graduation rates.

• Teacher qualifications, licenses, and advanced degrees.

• How state and local money is spent on our students.

State test results provide important information about student learning and growth, but they are only one part of the larger picture. State legislation (G.S. 115C-83.15) outlines how schools are measured through a single letter grade based on performance (80%) and growth (20%) on end-of-grade and end-of-course exams. High schools have some additional measures. While these measures provide valuable information about our schools, no single letter grade can capture all of the strengths, progress, and accomplishments of our students and school community.  

The state report card does help us to find areas where we can improve and support our students even better. We will use this information, along with other measures and what we know about our students, to identify areas of strength and opportunities for continued growth. Thank you for sharing your children with us and for being such an important part of our Bulldog Nation family!
