Title I

Title I is a program from the United States Department of Education that provides financial assistance to school districts with high percentages of students from low income families.  This is to help ensure that all children are able to meet the state's academic achievement standards. Schools with poverty rates above forty percent (40%) are able to use Title I funds to operate what is known as a Schoolwide Program.  Schoolwide Programs serve all students in the school, working to improve student achievement and foster parent and family engagement.  Thomasville Primary, Liberty Drive, Thomasville Middle, and Thomasville High all operate as Schoolwide Programs.
