Student Enrollment

All students who have passed the fifth anniversary of their birth on or before August 31 of the year in which they are presented for enrollment are entitled to attend school in the attendance area in which they are domiciled. All students under the age of 21 years who are domiciled in a school administrative unit who have not been removed from school for cause, or have not obtained a high school diploma are entitled to attend school in the attendance area in which they are domiciled.
 

TCS Enrollment Requirements

Enrollments are processed through the Scribbles App.  The application can be accessed from The Thomasville City Schools website by clicking on Departments and then on the Student Support Services Page or by clicking on the link below.

 

 

Parent(s) or court-appointed custodian(s) must provide the following documentation to the school upon presentation for enrollment:

 

Kindergarten:

  • Child's Birth Certificate
  • Record of immunizations
  • Health assessment
  • Two (2) Current proofs of residency in the attendance area of the enrolling school
  • Photo ID of the parent/legal custodian
  • Any custody documents

 

1st – 12th grade:

  • Child's Birth Certificate
  • Record of immunizations
  • Last report card, withdrawal documentation, or transcript from the previous school
  • Two (2) Current proofs of residency in the attendance area of the enrolling school 
  • Photo ID of the parent/legal custodian
  • Any custody documents
 
 Proof of Residency
Before any student is assigned to attend Thomasville City Schools (TCS), the student’s parent, legal guardian or sponsor (legal guardianship or sponsorship requires additional documentation from a court or agency) must provide proof of legal residence in Thomasville City.
All Documents must be pre-printed with the name and Thomasville City address of the student’s parent, legal guardian or sponsor and must be presented at the time of enrollment. 
 
 For Proof of Residency
ONE (1) of the following documents must be shown:
  • Copy of residential deed OR record of most recent residential mortgage statement
  • Copy of mortgage statement, deed or lease from homeowner/leaseholder affirming tenancy
  • Copy of residential lease or rental agreement
  • HUD closing statement
  • Copy of Thomasville Housing Authority lease
AND
ONE (1) of the following documents must be shown:
  • Any ONE utility bill or work order dated within the past 30 days, including: gas, water, electric, landline telephone (cell phone bills are not acceptable)
  • Current Vehicle Registration
  • Dated within the past year: Vehicle Tax Bill or Property Tax Bill
  • Letter from approved agency (group home)
  • Refugee resettlement letter
 
These documents are for address verification and must reflect the current address for enrollment or change of address.  TCS has an appeal process for families who have difficulty verifying proof of residency, so students can be enrolled without unnecessary delay.  Call Student Services at 336-474-4334 for more information.
